Disaster Risk Reduction and Extreme Weather Quiz

About the Project

We developed a specialized interactive quiz intended for the education of upper primary school students. The project aims to increase awareness of disaster risk reduction and extreme weather events through an engaging learning format.

Challenge

The main challenge was to create a tool that is simultaneously educational and fun, while enabling group work in the classroom. A solution was needed that could be easily displayed via a projector, with clear score visualization and fast navigation between questions in different languages.

How We Built It

The process began with the development of a structure for multilingual support (Macedonian and Albanian). We designed an interface with a game board that allows the selection of categories and questions, tailored for team competition. Team selection and a scoring system were implemented to encourage real-time interaction. We added specific zoom functionality and a full-screen mode, which are crucial for classroom presentations.

Technologies and Performance

The application is built using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for a dynamic user interface, while jQuery is used to optimize interactions. The server side uses PHP in combination with Nginx for fast loading. We integrated Matomo for visitor tracking and conversion analysis.

Result

The result is a functional, responsive educational tool that enables the efficient transfer of critical information regarding protection and self-protection, adapted for modern digital classrooms.
